Something new has emerged in the world of surfboards. Santa Cruz have a new lightweight material applied in the manufacture of windsurf boards that is now being used to make their very own surfboards. The founders of NHS (Santa Cruz Skateboards) started making surfboards in the late 60's fuelling the development of surfboard design since the beginning.

Santa Cruz has now re-entered the market with a range of surfboards designed by some of the worlds best shapers. Made using TufLite technology they are lighter and stronger than conventional surfboards.

"The boards are made with a core of expanded polystyrene. The technology presses fibreglass and high density foam PVC with expanding epoxy resin into a mould. What you get is a hard outer shell, and a soft, lightweight inner core called a composite or a "sandwich" board. The board's strength comes from the outer shell, or "skin" of the board."

£449.99	Matt Archbold is one of the fastest, most radical surfers on the planet. A hero to both young and old, Archy continues to push the limits of what’s possible on a surfboard. Archy’s power, aerial assaults, and unbelievable style have influenced the greatest surfers of all time. Countless years of barrels, snaps, airs, laybacks, floaters, carves and wave knowledge have been poured into Matt’s new 5’11 Double Wing Swallow. The double wing swallow design is one that Archy has ridden nearly exclusively his entire career. He likes the combination of drive and tight turning this board offers. The flat rocker gives the drive, with the two wings adding to the turn by narrowing the tail. Adam turned pro at an early age. His high speed, radical power surfing earned him a spot on the WCT, a feat accomplished by only one other Santa Cruz surfer, Chris Gallagher. Adams diversity and drive eventually lured him into bigger and bigger waves. Like the mini-Barney, this board is a smaller version of the AR 6’0 model. £449.99	Shawn “Barney” Barron is an aerial freak. One of the most innovative surfers to come out of Santa Cruz, Barney is always pushing the limits on the wave and in the air. Back flips and Barney rolls are standard moves in his deep bag of tricks. This board was designed with fun skate-influenced surfing in mind. The 5’11 Barney winged swallow is an all around small to medium sized wave board. An almost fish-like template makes it work as good in small surf as it does when the swell picks up a bit. Low rocker acts like a turbocharger and makes this board accelerate from the get go. Going fast allows you to boost. Boosting airs gets you girls. Why not have it all. Paddles fast and gets you into waves with ease. This is a big 5’11 that can hold a heavy rider for its size. Great for the lighter beginner, or a bigger, more advanced rider.

£449.99	The new Santa Cruz Christian Fletcher pro model is the result of over 15 years of innovative surfing put into one package for one main purpose. Going fast and boosting huge airs. More importantly this board is made to land them over and over again without falling apart under your feet. To achieve this Christian dusted off one of his all time favorite Magic boards and paired up with veteran Santa Cruz shaper Doug Haut to design the ultimate modern aerial surfboard. The end result was a 6’2 square tail with boost specific design elements. Christian’s board features a flat nose rocker and a double concave bottom up front to help generate speed and provide stability on landings. Towards the tail a moderate rocker is paired up with a deep single concave allowing enough lift and curve for sharp turning and setting up when needed. The wider square tail profile enhances launching by giving the board the thrust it needs to really boost. Control and positioning is achieved through the 6’2’s dynamic rail profile. Up front the rails begin with a subtle edge that smoothly progresses into a sharp, hard carving tail.
